OXM Podcast Interview with CliffyB
Official Xbox Magazine has their own podcast, the self-dubbed KOXM Radio. In the most recent episode, they have a great candid interview with Gears of War lead designer CliffyB.
The podcast is a great listen, and has been added to my iTunes podcast list. The podcast is hosted by Official Xbox Magazine’s Senior Associate Editor Ryan McCaffrey. Joining him as co-host is an old school game journalist that I’ve known since my first days of FAQ writing back in the early 90s, Dan Amrich who is now currently with Games Radar. I enjoyed the podcast so much, I decided to go back and download the previous podcasts to listen to as well.
Cliff calls this the “Best. Interview. Evar.” and he uses plenty of colorful language. For thirty minutes he discusses some history on the Gears of War project; like how pieces of the game became Unreal Tournament 2004. Secrets of the drama on the MTV2 Gears of War documentary are revealed. But instead of telling you everything that was revealed, it’ll be much more entertaining to go listen to it yourself.
