E3 2006: Gears of War Preview – Part II

Posted by Patrick McCarron in Gears of War Previews

I have finally put up the second part of my Gears of War preview. This segment of the preview discusses the multiplayer demo of Gears of War we saw at E3 2006.

There wasn’t much to see at E3 other than one single level, but I tried to dive into the gameplay of the game and features of the Multiplayer campaign as much as I could for the readers out there.

Continue on to Part II of the Gears of War Preview.

Also stay tuned next week for our first Gears of War Faceplate contest, which starts on Monday and runs for an entire week. Every day you come back, the more chances to win you can get!

We have put up our first of two parts of my Gears of War preview. This segment of the preview discusses the single player campaign demos we saw at E3 2006. There wasn’t much to see at E3 other than the first level, but I think that first level gives us a good taste of the possibilities the entire game will provide.

Continue on to Part I of the Gears of War Preview.

We should have Part II, which covers the multiplayer aspects of the game, completed early next week. So stay tuned for that, and also remember that we’ll have a Gears of War Xbox 360 Faceplate contest in the coming weeks.

E3 2006: Cliff’s Gears of War Q+A & Presentation [UPDATE]

Posted by Patrick McCarron in Gears of War Previews

During the first day of E3 2006, Cliff “CliffyB” Bleszinski presented Gears of War to the attendees of a special conference; and we were there to capture the event for all the Gears of War fans out there.

The conference was hosted by Geoff Keighley, contributing writer for Business 2.0. Also present was Hideo Kojima who presented a video of Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PlayStation 3 and Xavier Poixwho who presented Red Steel for the Nintendo Wii.

Personally I believe Gears of War came out on top of this event because it received the largest amount of applause and cheers from the crowd as Cliffy played through the game.

[Update: 5/18/2006]

Thanks to the readers over at Joystiq who pointed out that there is a better quality video over on Google Video from the folks from Team Xbox. It appears they got to sit closer than we did, we were stuck back in the back in the “Media seats” and were told we could not move forward any. So you can also view their video by clicking here.
