Pvt. Carmine is a member of Delta squad at the beginning of the game, along with Lt. Minh Young Kim, Pvt. Marcus Fenix and Pvt. Dominic Santiago. He seems to be excited to meet Marcus, due to his reaction to meeting him. Upon meeting Marcus, Carmine says "Are you the Marcus Fenix? The one who fought at Aspho Fields?", Marcus replied "Yeah" then Carmine said "Wow, cool!".

Carmine dies very early in the game (Act 1) by a shot to the head (left ear) from a Locust sniper, while complaining to Kim that his Lancer assault rifle keeps jamming. After the shootout following Carmine's death, Delta Squad regards sympathy for him (Dom says "Man, Carmine.", followed by Marcus saying "I know.") although Carmine's body is left where he died and no further mentioning of him is made during the rest of the game. It is rumored that he may be the "nameless" COG Red Shirt executed by General RAAM at the end of Act 3, but there is no official proof that it is actually him.

Carmine was voted "Most likely to get shot" in the Academy.

Carmine does not have his own character model. The model used for "Carmine" is the same model used for every COG Red Shirt. The Carmine/Red Shirt model is just the Lt. Kim model with a helmet edited onto the head.
